Embark on a challenging Expedition Medic Program deep in the heart of Taman Negara, one of the world’s oldest rainforests. Travel upriver by traditional longboat, navigating winding waterways before setting up a remote jungle basecamp. From there, explore the dense rainforest on foot, tackling realistic medical scenarios in extreme environments. Learn to manage injuries, tropical diseases, and prolonged field care with limited resources, all while adapting to the unpredictable challenges of the wild. Along the way, engage in realistic medical scenarios, managing trauma, altitude sickness, and prolonged field care in austere conditions. Set sail on an Expedition Medic Program, navigating the Straits of Malacca from Port Klang towards Phuket, island-hopping through tropical waters, remote beaches, and uninhabited isles. Learn to manage medical emergencies at sea, from trauma and dehydration to marine envenomations and prolonged patient care in isolated environments. Train in nautical medicine, seamanship, and survival skills, adapting to the challenges of limited resources, unpredictable weather, and ocean navigation. This immersive experience prepares medics for the realities of offshore and expeditionary healthcare, where help is days away, and every decision counts.

Austere Medic
Participants holding an EMT license or Level 4 Certificate (or higher) in prehospital care or a related healthcare field, who meet all requirements will receive Austere Medic and Wilderness EMT certification.
Austere Medics, Wilderness EMTs, Wilderness and Austere First responders may recertify with this program.
Certified Expedition Medic
Upon successful completion of this program, participants are eligible to apply to become a CEM candidate. CEM registation requires current Austere Medic certification, the completion of one audited expedition, and a log of three successful expeditions across three different biomes. Candidates have 36 months from acceptance of candidacy to achieve CEM registration.
